Effective Date: August 14, 2026
Returnt (“Returnt,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is developed and operated by Mateo Barthaburu Echazarreta.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Returnt mobile application.
Returnt is designed with privacy in mind. Your return data stays on your device. Returnt does not require an account, does not access your email, and does not connect to your bank account.
When you use Returnt, you may choose to enter information about your purchases, returns, and refunds, such as:
This information is stored locally on your device.
Returnt does not upload your returns, receipts, proof photos, notes, tracking information, or scanned receipt text to our servers or to RevenueCat.
Returnt does not currently operate a cloud account or backend that stores your return data.
Returnt can use Apple Vision technology to recognize text from receipt images.
Receipt recognition is processed on your device.
Receipt images and the text recognized from them are not sent to Returnt servers or third-party OCR providers.
You can review and edit recognized information before using it in a return.
If you choose to add a receipt or proof, Returnt may request access to your camera or photo library.
Returnt creates and stores a local copy of the image within the app’s storage on your device.
Returnt does not upload these images.
When you delete a proof or return, Returnt attempts to delete its associated local image copies. Deleting a Returnt copy does not delete the original image from your personal photo library.
The operating system may also automatically remove temporary cached files as part of normal device storage management.
Returnt may ask for your location when you choose to use the Find Nearby Drop-off feature.
Location access is requested only when you use this feature, is limited to foreground use, is not used for background tracking, and is not stored by Returnt.
When you request a nearby drop-off search, your location may be passed to Apple Maps so Maps can perform the search you requested.
If you do not grant location permission, Returnt can still open a generic drop-off search in Maps.
Apple’s handling of information through Apple Maps is governed by Apple’s own privacy practices.
Returnt may ask for permission to send notifications.
Returnt currently uses local notifications for features such as return deadlines, drop-off reminders, expected refunds, refund follow-ups, and other return-related reminders.
These notifications are scheduled on your device.
Returnt does not currently use a Returnt-operated remote push notification server.
Notification content may include information such as a retailer name, refund amount, or return reminder and may therefore be visible on your device’s lock screen depending on your notification settings.
You can manage notification permissions and visibility through your device settings.
Returnt offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s App Store.
Purchases are processed by Apple. Returnt does not receive or store your payment-card information.
Returnt uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, manage subscription entitlements, and determine whether Premium features should be available.
For this purpose, Apple and RevenueCat may process information related to your purchase or subscription, such as:
Returnt does not provide RevenueCat with your return records, receipts, proof photos, scanned receipt text, email address, phone number, or name.
Returnt currently uses anonymous RevenueCat user identifiers rather than a Returnt account or custom personally identifying user ID.
RevenueCat may use subscription information to provide app functionality and analytics related to purchases and subscriptions.
RevenueCat’s handling of information is governed by its own privacy practices.
Returnt may use Expo EAS Update to check for and deliver compatible application updates.
As part of this process, the application may communicate with Expo’s update infrastructure and provide technical information necessary to determine and deliver the appropriate update, such as app version, platform, update channel, and an installation-specific update identifier.
Returnt does not intentionally include your return records, receipt images, proof photos, notes, or scanned receipt text in these update requests.
Expo’s handling of information is governed by its own privacy practices.
Returnt does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs.
Returnt does not currently use third-party behavioral advertising, cross-app tracking, or Apple’s IDFA for advertising purposes.
Returnt does not currently include general-purpose third-party product analytics services such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar services.
RevenueCat processes purchase and subscription information as described above, including for subscription-related functionality and analytics.
Returnt does not currently require or provide user accounts.
Returnt does not require you to provide your name, email address, phone number, bank account information, or payment-card details.
Returnt does not access your email inbox and does not connect to your bank account.
Return-related information is stored locally on your device for as long as it remains saved in Returnt or until the app’s local data is otherwise removed.
You can delete individual proofs, individual returns, or use Returnt’s Erase all returns feature.
Erase all returns removes the return records stored by Returnt, cancels related local reminders, and attempts to delete Returnt’s associated local image copies.
Some app preferences and onboarding settings may remain because Erase all returns is intended to erase return records rather than reset every application preference.
Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase and subscription records independently as necessary to provide App Store purchases, subscription management, fraud prevention, accounting, and related services.
Removing Returnt from your device removes Returnt’s locally stored app data according to the normal behavior of iOS.
You control the information you add to Returnt.
You may:
Certain features may be unavailable when the related permission is denied, but core return tracking can still be used without connecting an email or bank account.
Returnt may display names of retailers, marketplaces, carriers, and other third parties to help users organize returns and understand typical return processes.
Returnt is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by those retailers, carriers, or marketplaces unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Retailer policies and refund timelines shown by Returnt are informational estimates or guidance and may change.
You should verify the terms applicable to your specific purchase directly with the retailer or other relevant provider.
Returnt is a return-tracking and organizational tool.
Returnt does not access your bank or payment-card transactions and therefore does not independently verify whether a refund has reached your account.
Refund dates and reminders may be estimates.
Users are responsible for confirming when a refund has actually been received.
Returnt does not guarantee that a retailer, carrier, payment provider, or other third party will issue or complete a refund.
Returnt is not designed or directed specifically to children under 13.
We do not knowingly operate Returnt for the purpose of collecting personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided information to us in a way that requires attention, please contact us.
Returnt does not sell your return data or personal information.
Returnt does not share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not use your return data for targeted advertising.
Returnt is designed to minimize the amount of information transmitted away from your device.
However, no device, operating system, software application, or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security on your device, including device access controls where appropriate.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Returnt evolves, including when features, third-party services, or data practices change.
When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and make the updated Privacy Policy available through the app and/or its public Privacy Policy page.
